Bauhinia aureifolia is a woody vine, it climbs by means of tendrils.
The leaves are bilobed and have cordate bases, the young leaves are red and covered with a layer of fine hairs, turning green as it matures. The mature leaves are green, the veins on the underside of the leaf and leaf margins are red in colour and covered with a layer of fine hairs.
The gragrant, bisexual flowers are borne on inflorescences and are white in colour, turning cream as it ages.
A beautiful climber that needs full light and good humidity. The cultivated plants flower range from pure white to dark purple and pink, while the wild ones have often white petals with pinkish patches. This plant prefers dry to intermediate sites in any altitude range from sea level. Delicately fragrant in the evening, blooms May to November at 3-5 years old in any well drained soil with full light. Propagation by seeds from seed cases that have turned brown

برگ ها در ابتدای رشد برگ به رنگ نارنجی با پرزهای ریز و مخملی هستند و وقتی برگ بالغ شود به رنگ سبز تغییر میکند
هر سال موقع رشد شاخه های جدید رنگ نارنجی طلایی برگ های جدید قابل مشاهده است
گلها کوچک و سفید هستند
در تقسیم بندی جدید با نام علمی مترادف Phanera aureifolia شناخته میشود
