ریحان مقدس قرمز نژادی از ریحان مقدس است که برگ های آن رنگ قرمز تا بنفش دارند.
این گیاه رو با ریحان معمولی اشتباه نگیرید. ریحان مقدس قرمز بویی شبیه بوی ویکس دارد یعنی حتی عطرش هم با ریحان معمولی فرق دارد.
دانه های این گیاه قهوه ای رنگ و گرد و دایره ای هستند و با دانه های کشیده و سیاه ریحان معمولی فرق دارند.
این گیاه بیشتر به عنوان ادویه ای معطر و خوشبو در غذا مصرف میشود.
