Hyphaene thebaica, with common names doum palm and gingerbread tree (also doom palm), is a type of palm tree with edible oval fruit. It has been shown that dietary supplementation with doum palm extract has hypotensive and hypolipidemic effects. It is a native palm to the Arabian Peninsula and also to the northern half and western part of Africa where it is widely distributed and tends to grow in places where groundwater is present
نخل نان زنجبیلی یا هایفان تباییکا گونه ای نخل بومی شمال آفریقا و شبه جزیره عربی است
این نخل عادت به رویش شاخه های جانبی زیاد دارد و بر خلاف اکثر نخل ها که تک شاخه هستند این نخل چند شاخه است.
میوه های این نخل درشت و قهوه ای رنگی دارد و بذر آن با پوششی الیافی چوبی احاطه شده است
